Customers and cell phones

Offer to take your kid to a restaurant these days, and the first question you'll hear is whether you are going to one of those cool places with all the video games.

Maybe I'm just old fashioned, but I think the system we had for judging a restaurant when I was a kid was better.  If the food was good, the place was clean, and you got good service, then the place was okay.

Today, the kids are not even at the table when the food is served, so they don't know about the service.  They are off playing the video games.  Having to eat the food itself is an inconvenience, because it takes time from the games.

Have other parents come to feel this way?  If so, please email me and let me know so I don't think I'm the only one in the world.
